Lutherans Concerned to Hire a Development Director

LC/NA has begun its search for a full-time Development Director as paid staff working out of our Saint Paul headquarters.

For much of our 35-year history, LC/NA has been led by an all volunteer working board of directors. But, LC/NA currently has a full-time staff of five, led by an Executive Director.

Now we are looking for a successful and experienced person who is passionate about creating genuine welcome and full participation for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities within the Lutheran communion.

Emily Eastwood, Executive Director, said about this search, "In order to create the change we seek, we must organize people and organize money. We must have the reach, visibility, and effectiveness required to continue our mission toward full inclusion in the Lutheran quadrant of the Body of Christ and beyond. This position will help us do that."

In consultation with the Executive Director, the Development Director will assume primary responsibility for the day-to-day development activities needed to secure financial stability, both short- and long-term, for LC/NA, to increase the reach and visibility of LC/NA, to ensure implementation and accomplishment of our objectives for systemic change within the Lutheran communion toward full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

This new position is salaried and will report to LC/NA's Executive Director, Emily Eastwood.

Pay Range: $40,000–$47,000 plus benefits, depending on qualifications. (Salary and benefits for all staff will grow with success in this position.) Ideally, the Development Director will work out of the Saint Paul office and spend 50–67% of the time on travel, and 33–50% in the office. The office is on the 3rd and 4th floors of a church building which is NOT handicapped accessible, and requires climbing many sets of stairs, often carrying materials and equipment.

If you are, or someone you know is, interested in this position, please consult our website for a complete job description and more information about how to apply.

All applications for the position must be received by November 30, 2007.
